Hello!

Hello! Hello! Welcome!

I have a new home. Unfortunately due to neglect (kids, pandemic etc) and technical things I have no understanding of the original Buttons and Pickles website is no more. I’ll try and retrieve what content I can but as that is going to take a rebuild of a laptop, let’s not hold our breath. Instead, we shall look to new adventures, big, bright ones with bells on.

In the same way that the old site was never just a knitting site, this one will be filled with all sorts of things. I am a maker by nature and love to find creativity all over the place. I take a lot of pleasure from reusing things that have come to the end of their current usage and repurposing them for something else. Even something as small as cutting up a well worn pair of leggings ( you know when they turn super holey and embarrassing?) into nose wipes for the kids.

Speaking of the kids, I have children and so there will be “mum” content. One of the things I have noticed over the past year or so on social media ( I’m only on Instagram, so I may be in a bubble) is that there is an expectation from some followers (for want of a better word) that creators should only ever show the things that they create. Nothing else. Especially if that thing they create is available to buy. I have Views on this. With a captial V. These, along with many others I’m sure, will be shared in due course.

Whilst we’re on the subject of selling things! There’s a link at the top of the page here to my patterns on Ravelry. All of which should be getting a makeover soon, with better pictures and instructions. I am also hoping to move all pattern purchases over to this site as I am aware some people struggle with the new Rav layout. Much like the laptop rebuild, that will take time, so please bear with me.

Somehow these things seem to take eleventy billion years to write and so it is now time to pick the urchins up from a day of education that I haven’t had to do ( hurrah for no longer being in lockdown) and set up a small tea party for the cat. He is 1 today. Don’t judge me. We’ve not had a birthday for a while and everyone could do with cheering up!

To ensure that you don’t miss a single item of riveting content, you can sign up to get an email every time there is a new post on the site by popping your email address in the box to the right. You’ll recieve an email any time new posts are published, so that you can grab a cuppa and have a read. Tea is optional, finding me witty and delightful is expected.

Until then, drink warm things, eat what makes you happy and take some time to hug some folk in a Covidly acceptable manner.

Kx

  2. Hi. Wanted to sign up to get an email when you publish a new post but couldn’t find the “box to the right”. I’m using an iPad mini.

  3. Hi, I just found your blog but I cant see where to sign up with my email address to receive new posts. I’m not great with technology so I’m probably doing something wrong!

    1. Hello, thank you for messaging. There was a bug that meant it wasn’t showing up, so not you at all! I should have fixed it now. 😊
